API Corporate Headequaters located in Lanham, Maryland just outside of the Nation's Capital, Washington D.C.


API's Mission is to provide full service promotional products merchandise through our trained professional sales and support staff. We aim to provide a wide array of programs and products that satisfy the needs of today and tomorrow's marketing professional.

In 1981, Charles G. Brown Inc (t/a API) was incorporated in the state of Maryland. Prior to that date, we operated as a sole proprietorship established in 1965. The corporation, Charles G. Brown Inc., remains the legal name of the corporation with the legal "trade" name of API. Our company has been providing quality products and service for over 45 years. We have provided promotional products and related services for over 30 years. In order to serve our customers at the highest level possible, our company acquired prestigious franchises such as:  3M, Ashworth, BIC, Cutter & Buck, Gear for Sports, Hazel, Leeds, Lenox China, Panasonic, Parker Pen, Rand McNally, Waterford Crystal, Zippo and many more.


In 1988, our computerized convention services division was created. This division provides in-house laser produced badges, tickets, database management, and comprehensive on-site meeting registration services to major trade association customers that are in need of state of the art conference services.  API is accustomed to meeting critical convention sensitive deadlines. We understand the meaning of "on time" delivery.


In 1992, to exceed the needs of our customers and enhance their ability to meet their customer's needs, our specialized fulfillment division was established. API fulfillment programs include product selection, customized printed catalog development, electronic catalog development, e-commerce solutions, warehousing of products, order processing, order tracking and customized distribution of promotion products programs.

In 1996, in order to increase our level of customer service, product quality, and on time delivery, API created our branded sportswear division.  The acquisition of state of the art screen-printing and embroidery equipment provides API with complete control of delivery schedules and product quality.


In 2004, API added the API Marketing and Creative Department.  The department is made up of an in-house web development and e-commerce division and an in-house art services division.  Working on state of the art equipment and fueled by the industries latest technology, the API team can offer high quality professional solutions for all Marketing, Web, and Art needs.


In 2008, API decided to take a huge step in the upgrading of the existing production division. API added the well known Kornit DTG technology in order to provide a high end, full color garment with lighting fast speed and with brilliant resolution and colors. API is among the very few and elite that currently use this techonology.


From 2003 through 2011, API was ranked in the top 1% of the promotional products industry by Counselor Magazine. We are dedicated to continually improving and enhancing our company to provide the best work environment for our employees as well as providing the highest level of customer satisfaction.
